Cambodia welcomes China Medical Delegation

Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister, his Excellency Yim Chhay Ly, welcomed a large delegation of Chinese and Cambodian doctors today to applaud medical training in the One Belt, One Road Initiative.

Led by Dr. Billy Chan, Co-Chair of the newly launched Regional Healthcare Outreach (One Belt, One Road) program from Macau, the Chinese doctors in the delegation included Mr. Zhang Guoxin, Director General for the Center for Public Health Emergency of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) of the People’s Republic of China, and Prof. Jiang Baoguo, President of the Peking University Peoples’ Hospital and Chairman of the China Alliance of Trauma Care.

Other key members of the China medical delegation to Cambodia included Prof. Li Tianshi, Chair of the Department of Emergency of the Chinese PLA General Hospital, Prof. Wang Tianbing, President Assistant of the Peking University Hospital, Prof. Zhang Mao, Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and Prof. Han Na, of the Department of Orthopedics & Traumatology at Peking University Peoples’ Hospital.

Mr. Feng Jun, Chairman of the Board of Beijing Avaion Gene Technology, and Ms. Wang Xin, Board Member of Beijing Avaion Gene Technology were also prominent members of the Chinese delegation that came to support this new platform.

Deputy Prime Minister Yim, himself a former Minister of Health of Cambodia, welcomed the group and encouraged their trauma care expertise. He also expressed optimism for in future medical and exchanges between the Regional Healthcare Outreach (One Belt, One Road) delegation, the Doctor Alliance of Union Youth Federation of Cambodia (DA-UYFC), as well as other healthcare and hospital facilities in Cambodia.

A day full of scientific and medical exchanges commences tomorrow with the China and Cambodia doctor delegation assembled in Phnom Penh.
